I am drawn to the evanescence of nature – its norm of perpetual change. I aim to capture fleeting moments in nature in my drawings. I work in fine layers of marks, repeating them differently each time. Shapes and forms emerge shifting and changing. They are reminders of the fragility and strength of nature.
The drawings evoke places in which I work, or that I visit, and my relationship to these places is intimate. I have watched the dissolution and rebirth of my surroundings, and the process of drawing serves as a reminder.
